Gasworks park is an iconic, kid-friendly Seattle park complete with a large play barn and playground area. This former gasification plant is located on north end of Lake Union, and the historic building is the centerpiece of the park. Although there is no fishing or swimming access at Gasworks park, you and the kids will enjoy an amazing view of the lake water and Seattle skyline. This park is locally famous for its’ wonderful kite-flying conditions, which attract kite flyers young and old . The park is home to a nautical museum, The Center for Wooden Boats, which is located on the south shore and houses historical boats, sailing events, workshops and classes. The former boiler house has been transformed into a picnic shelter complete with fire grills, picnic tables and an open area. Kids love to play on the Gasworks playground and explore the play barn, which features a labyrinth of brightly-painted machinery. Whether you want to people-watch, take in some beautiful scenery, fly a kite, or simply relax while your kids play in the park, Gasworks is a great place for kid-friendly fun.

Nice Play Ground and Great Place to Fly a Kite

Enjoy coming here because there's much to do from looking at the old gas factory, play ground, walking, watching the boats, going to a nearby cafe. On busy days finding parking can be a challenge.
